Okay so me and my friend were talking about how we both want like peace sign or heart or star tattoos on our hip. but we are to young to get one professionally done and our parents would NEVER give us permission so my other friend was telling us how when she was in 5th grade she gave her best friend a tattoo on her hand by breaking a ball point pen and sticking a needle in it then pocking it in her skin and shes like 21 or 22 now and its still there but me and my friend are both afraid of needles and pain lol so is there anyway that we can give each other a tattoo permanent but pain free?

p.s. i tired the ball point pen way but i was too afraid to stick it all the way in by myself so i can BALEY see it. (i think i could if i had my friend do it to me id just need to be held down and id cry alot) but still any pain free ideas?

Not only is what you are thinking about stupid, but it is dangerous. There are chemicals in ball point pen ink that you would NOT want in your blood stream. Even though your friend may still have her self inflicted tattoo I can promise you that it in no way resembles a professional tattoo. If you are patient, you can get a beautiful, professional tattoo with no risk of infection or ink poisoning. Tattoo artists use sterilized equiptment and safety pins and sewing needles are not able to give you the desired effect. Needle depth has to be controlled in order for it to look good and be safe.
You are not able to safely tattoo yourself or your friend and I’m sure you don’t want to be responsible for scarring either yourself or your friend for life, regardless of how fun and cute you think tattoos are.
I know you don’t believe me, but you will reget it.
There is no such thing as a pain free tattoo unless you’re sticking them on with a wet compress or airbrushing them on.
Remember this saying, No good tattoos are cheap and no cheap tattoos are good. Wait until you can get a professional one. You’ll be glad you did.

You need to go to a parlor and do it the safe way, and you can’t do it until you’re eighteen.

I have friends who have tattooed themselves or other people and it always ends up looking bad, and they all regretted it. Take a few more years to put some real thought into what you want and that way you’ll be immensely happy when you finally get one.

I have three tattoos, and the funny thing is the plain girly ones, (one’s a heart, the other a butterfly) are the ones I like and am glad I have. The creative larger tattoo is something I wish I had never done. So my suggestion would be go with something plain and cute, a heart or a little trail of stars or something like that. As far as where, I think any place but the arms or the shins, which I think looks tacky. (No offense to anybody with tattoos in those spots, just my opinion!!) The ankle I think is cute, feet are cute but they wear out and you have to get them redone all the time, my sister has a really beautiful one on her upper chest (not breast) that I would never do but actually turned out very pretty. What has meaning for you both. A girlfriend of mine and I had matching tattoos done years ago…they are of a seagull in flight which represents freedom, the beach (we lived in Florida), and it was the emblem on the album cover of a band we both adored and whose music we listened to ad nauseum.

Two girlfriends and I, years later, got matching tattoos that we designed. We incorporated the elements of our sun signs (one of us was fire, another water) and the female symbol ? in chrome (to represent the friend who brought the other 2 of us together, and in chrome because she loved to ride motorcycles). The symbol is surrounded on one side by fire, the other by water. It’s very kewl.

I’ve also got an OM symbol which is special to another friend of mine, who also has that tattoo…and a dragon tattoo as another friend, to commemorate our trip to Wales this past Fall.

The options for you two are endless. The symbol or sign doesn’t have to say ‘friendship’ in any language, to represent the friendship you share.

Think of a symbol you are already familiar with. Whether it be a recurring joke or something you’ve all gone through together.

Best friend tattoos for me and her!?

Me and my bestfriend have been friends for years. We want to get matching tattoos. We tried hearts one on her neck and one on my stomach but the person who did mine messed it up and i had to add an additional heart on it so they aren’t matching anymore. She was thinking about half a heart on her pinky and half on mine but i already have three hearts one on my wrist and two intertwinning on my stomach.

The heart that was a mistake Was her friend that she had known for years and we thought it would be fine hers turned out great mine had spots missing! Now i only go to one artist!

Try and think if either of you have nick names for each other or if you have one really important moment that the both of you will never forget? Try and think of something like that and then an image that represents it, then you could both get half the image tattooed somewhere for example your hip so that when you stand together it makes one big image. i am a junior in college. my best friend and i got matching tattoos. it was her present to me on my 18th birthday like a week 1/2 before we left for college. she has truly been a blessing to me and we wanted something to symbolize how our friendship wouldnt end just because we were going to seperate colleges. (me: nc, her: ala)
we got the kanji symbol of eternity on the upper left side of our chest (near the shoulder). its very pretty and i love to tell the story of how i got it (we had interesting day, lol) when people ask me about it. (and ppl always ask me about it)

so i think its a great idea but here are a few tips first:
1. make sure its what you want before you get it though. make sure its nothing you will regret.
(for christmas i got us matching bracelets w/ a heart charm engraved with eternity on it, and she was just as excited)
2. make sure its a smart choice.
(we thought about it and made sure we both totally agreed, and it was something outlandish. a choice we could live with for “eternity” literally)
3. decide where you want it.
(i wanted something i could cover based on my career & my father’s views on tats. she just wanted it to be classy & tasteful)
4. find a facility or tat parlor with a good reputation and check their credentials
(make sure they can advice you on after care and use proper techniques. this is a safety precaution to avoid infections or having to come back and get re-coloring)

I think, personally, the Chinese symbol would look better, and seem a bit more, mmmm, mature. BFF? That’s more what teenagers say via text message, isn’t it?
If not Chinese, what about Hebrew? Or even “Elvish” from “Lord of the Rings”
I’ve seen tattoos in “Elvish” and they are really cool.

So my best friend and I have been friends since 7th grade – we’re nineteen now.. we’re looking to get matching tattoos but we’re not that creative so i thought maybe if i gave you guys a little detail you could help us? and please don’t judge us with the information i’m going to share.. we know it looks bad to you but unless you go through it you don’t understand it..
we became friends when i moved to the same city as her, we met in class and bonded because we both come from messed up families, we bonded through cutting and knowing what each other was feeling (that’s in the past) .. we both deal with chronic depression and a few other disorders; i’d do anything for her in a heart beat and vice versa.
we both use drugs and alcohol as an escape from our lives – sometimes.
we are both obsessed with lyrics, words and their meanings.
every time we hear a lyric that reminds us of each other we let the other one know.
lyrics are our lives basically.
i know this is a lot of info but we’re really not that creative haha
we’ve got so many songs between us that it’s nearly impossible to narrow down lyrics

My friends got a pretty cool best friend tattoo last year. They both love this song called “Tusk” so they got matching tusks tattooed on them. If you guys share a favorite song you could take imagery from it to create a tattoo. You could also get quotes that go together, but are not exactly the same. Matching tattoos for best friends ?

My best friend is a guy and I’m a girl. We’re leaving for separate colleges soon and we’re thinking of getting matching tattoos on our wrists before we depart. We want something that looks feminine on me and manly-ish on him (he is however gay, so it doesn’t have to be atrociously manly :p) Any ideas?

two of my friends were really close throughout chidhood and used to play with my little ponies all the time and now they’re getting friendship tattoos of theri favorite mlp symbols. even though you and your guy friend probably wouldn’t want to get my little pony symbols tattooed on you, i think its important to think of a common interest that you share or something that has always tied you together. you can also think of your favorite time together, that way when you look at your tattoo no matter where you are, you both willl always smile. i’m in a sorority and some of my sisters got the infinity symbol, i think that’s a great idea because its generic enough to fit you both but symbolic enough to represent your friendship/closeness. there are also some really great friendship quotes!

Ideas for best friend tattoos?

me and my best friend want to get matching tattoos when she comes to visit me.
we were sorta thinking some symbols that mean forever, or soul mate or something along those lines. we were also thinking of somehow incorporating the day we met five years ago.
and yes we are Absolutely certain that we’re friends for life.
we’ve already been friends for five years, almost six now.

Wait until you’re grown up enough to type like an adult.
Wait until you realize that asking for tattoo ideas on the internet is bad.

If, when you two are adults, you can come up with something original on your own, you should consider tattoos.

But I give blunt/honest answers because I’m tired of seeing people get bad/unoriginal tattoos that they aren’t happy with.
If it makes more sense for you to have something suggested by a random stranger than it does to come up with something on your own…go for it.

is their anything in particular you have in common? if so get a tattoo of that and incorporate 1990 into it.

My sister, mother and I all have a puzzle piece tattoo to celebrate our “finding” each other. My sister was put up for adoption at birth, and when my brother and I met her we gave her a puzzle piece necklace with the date we met inscribed on one side and our first initals inscribed on the other. The puzzle piece signified us finding our missing piece. My brother is also going to get this tattoo, we just don’t know where.

Tattoo’s should have a story, something you’re proud of and something that when people ask you why you got it you can easily answer.

Something you can each have 1/2 of or a symbol or quote that reminds you of each other.

My two cousins each have 1/2 of a heart on their wrists so that it becomes a whole when we grasp hands.

OR

Why not get something that is just between the two of you? Like something from an inside joke, or maybe just a cool design that both of you really like. Or you could do like, two stars. Hers can have a design she likes in it, and yours can have the design you like in it.

Just have fun with it. Be creative and get something that means alot to the both of you. You could always do something with initials, but kind of blend them together to make it look just like a cool design.

Portraits, especially well-done portraits, are going to cost more than other tattoos. Not every artist can do them,. Look at portfolios, make sure the shop is clean and reputable, and that the artist can do a decent portrait. With someone as recognizable as MM, a tiny error can ruin the whole thing.

Where is the best place on your body to get a portrait tattoo?

My dad passed away almost 5 years ago and I was thinking about this for a while now…I would like to get a picture of his face somewhere on my body (I’m a guy and 20 yrs old btw) but i don’t know where. I know the answer from many of you would be on the shoulder/upper arm but I don’t want it to be in a stereotypical place for a portrait tattoo, and I don’t want it to be visible unless i have my shirt off, just need some suggestions.
